The Engadine Lions were established in 1994 by a local group of keen rugby supporters. After beginning as a club that catered for only juniors, we had progressed to also cater for Senior’s since 1998 when Len Issa started a Men’s team that competed in the Illawarra competition. Our clubs home ground is Old Bush Road, Yarrawarrah. Our club has grown from humble beginnings of one team in 1994 to in 2010 field teams from the Under 6 – 18 age groups that play in the local competition, Men’s 1st grade-3rd grade, Women’s and even a Golden Oldies team competing in the IRB sanctioned World Cup.
This season marks our 17th year in what has been a short but eventful history with many premierships and is looking to be our most successful one yet. One of our loyal sponsors Kodi Civil is redeveloping our clubhouse facilities in the off-season in preparation for the future growth of our family club. From now onwards we will now be known as Lions Rugby to reflect the broad market where we draw our players and members from Engadine, Yarrawarrah and all across the Shire then Southwards into Northern Illawarra.
